Just found this kid...and supposedly he's extremely popular.

My day is officially ruined.
This is honestly one of the worst things I have ever seen...

Is he a good DJ? I would say so. Look at his older videos he does the whole mix and records it live. Now he just dances around with the chicks, recording the mix before hand, so hes not cheating. He has some good heavy electro songs picked out n stuff. He is going strait for the mainstream crowd, and depending on what you want this may be exactly what you want, or something you despise. But one things for sure you can't deny that hes popular. :P

Woah I just noticed, he now does original music now. Go to his youtube channel. But to me thats suspicious. Idk just like the one guy said hes super gimmicky. Something tells me hes not the main driving force behind his whole "brand". I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't produce his own music but had other ppl write it.

the whole dj blend thing has sort of come and gone haha. those tunes he plays you wont even hear at modern rave sort of places. I'm not scared, just go with the flow.

An award needs to be given to anyone over the age of 25 who can watch the entire video...

This is the power of hype, it can easily blind us and make you second guess your chosen style or path. But as many have said this is definitely just a cycle. The great thing is that if you can recognize those cycles and stay focused on being the best at your particular style or genre you'll be left with a whole bunch of new fans who actually see past the hype.

C'mon guys he is way creative. He used a "3" instead of an "E" in his name. He makes a 9 minute brostep video mix in his parents living room, and he dresses like LMFAO.

There's nothing wrong with what he's doing. He's not the greatest, but we've all heard worse. He's got a heavy gimmick, but a lot of people like that sort of thing. EDM will be just fine.

EDM gets popular. EDM gets huge influx of people that don't know any better. EDM loses popularity and most of those people fade away. EDM gains a new underground following comprised of the people that really appreciate it, but never would have heard it if not for it's rise in popularity. EDM lives on. Repeat cycle in ten years.

No I'm not scared.

This is something that I could actually play at a club and expect people to freak out to. It's crazy in the good way IMO and it sound as he has put much time in the song choice.

This is better then a lot of the shit I'm used to hearing of DJ's around where I live.

Heard a rumor that he refused to play a show when his mask got stolen and/or wasn't returned. Just goes to show that he doesn't have much confidence without it and that his "shows" seem to revolve around him dancing and fist pumping before and after his "transitions".

I dont believe that "EDM" is in danger at all from him. IMO the new generation of electronic music fans will move onto other things soon enough or they will outgrow the hyphy scene and start to respect performers and artists like Derrick May, Mark Farina, James Zabiela etc.
Mark Farina's Mushroom Jazz records are a steady staple in my listening diet, and always will be

sorry man but i find it a bit funny to be scared for any type of music. electronic music has been around for quite some time and will continue to keep going forward. "old" sounds are still being created and reinterpreted with some cases leading to new sub genres or styles. to be honest, i'm in a state of constant amazement and awe of how many people are stepping up and creating music that i love every single day. if i don't like something, i skip it and move on until i find what floats my boat.
