M-Audio Fast Track Pro vs NI Audio 4 DJ

Hi all,

I'm about to purchase a VCI-100 and convert it to 1.3FW and 2.2 TSI with overlay, but am also stuck between choosing a soundcard. I've done a bit of research and I'm looking at getting either a Fast Track Pro or an Audio 4 DJ. The main problem with the Audio 4 DJ is that it doesn't have a mic input, but the sound is crystal clear and loud (apparently).

I want to be able to have a mic input so an MC can get on the mic and do their thing, but I'm willing to sacrifice this - IF - the Audio 4 DJ is that much better. Can the Fast Track Pro's mic input be routed to the main output and if so, is it possible to record the output of the main mix (obviously with both music and mic) via Traktor Pro's audio recorder? And for those that have heard both the Fast Track Pro and the Audio 4 DJ, is there that much difference in the sound levels/quality? I want to be able to have headroom for the headphones volume when the main levels are cranking!

Cheers!

I'm in a similar situation. Got a FastTrack Pro, my experience is that it hasn't crashed my MacBookPro yet, but it doesn't sound great, though I don't need a mic in.
I'm looking to upgrade either to a Audio4DJ or AudioFire4. The AudioFire has slightly better specs, though I honestly don't know the finer points of what Im reading on a spec sheet.
Sound quality for me is everything as I go back and forth between Pioneer CDJ-1000 and I love how those sound. The FastTrack Pro doesn't seem to give the same punch and clarity in the low end.
Does anyone here use A4DJ and CDJ together?

I have a fast track pro and hate it. I have never used the audio 4 dj, but I hear good things. The fast track pro always crashes my macbook pro, and I have read about other people having similar problems.
