Controlling the remix decks
Posted on: 27.08.2012 by Dacia Mccart
Hello there,

I was out of the dj scene for about a year and came back few weeks ago and bought myself a kontrol s4 (which i love). But then i wanted to get more productive and start to use the remix decks and have a akai mpd24 which is perfect in format for accessing the 16 clips (it has 16 pads). But am i getting this right, i can't really map the mpd to control the cells only trigger the 4 decks to play, so i can just play 4 different samples with my mpd24?
TL;DR can i map the mpd24 to control remix decks cells or is it just the f1 that can do that?

sorry if this has already been answered but i have googled now for an hour and haven't found i good answer.

There are a few hacks here and there but the simplest solution is to go for the F1.
Or a Midi Fighter 3D.

You've got the same set up as me and I'm stuck waiting impatiently.

Still the MPD24 works good for cue points and Instant Gratification. I also use the knobs to set the volume on the eight individula remix decks, though that isn't quite as smooth as I'd like.

oh well, i believe i will just wait for it, though a kontrol f1 would be neat i believe i could do all the things i want to with the mpd 24 when the mapping features will be unlocked. hope that will happen soon. Thanks for all the responses
