Studio headphone: Sennheiser HD25-II or KRK KNS8400? Which and why? Posted on: 30.08.2012 by Warner Rotberg Hi,Looking for a dedicated studio headphone for producing. Its either or. Ive already ordered the SD25s, but now a few people telling me to get the KNS 8400s instead. Thoughts please? http://www.sennheiser.co.uk/uk/home_...188?Open&row=1 http://www.krksys.com/krk-headphones/kns-8400.html Thanks | |
Danae Dumler 01.09.2012 | For the studio everyone raves about these, well over non-neutral cans like HD25s or TMA1s. If I was getting seriously into producing I'd get these in a heartbeat ... I might get them anyway; they're only $133 on amazon and they have them in white! The TMA studios will be cool but they'll be bass heavy like their DJ headphones, or at least that's what the reviews are saying.

Francis Leckliter 01.09.2012 | +1 recommendation on the ATH-m50's for studio use, best for the money! -1 recommendation for getting ANY headphone in white... |
Dione Haimes 01.09.2012 | I just got the sennheiser 280's, comfy as fuck and a pretty neutral tone, didnt cost a bomb, what else do you want? |

31.08.2012 | One more vote for the 770s or 990s if you can afford them. My mate has mixed down all his tracks on his 990s - www.soundcloud.com/wascal They're like sofas for your ears. |
Warner Rotberg 31.08.2012 | I just called the dealership back (as the HD25s) had already arrived and he STRONGLY recommended the: "Audio-Tehcnica ATH-M50 Professional Studio Monitor Headphones" Thoughts? |

Frieda Swoboda 30.08.2012 | It's totally personal. For example, some people like to hear booming bass and colored tones when producing so they can really get into it. It doesn't matter how accurate it is at this point in the production, you just want to crank out some bad-ass sounds/beats. Some guys like to tweak/fine tune stuff the whole time while producing, so they like very neutral sounding speakers/headphones for producing. IMHO, neutral monitors are sort of a hold over from a different era when the first time you heard your track outside the studio, it had already been pressed. But now, you can crank out samples and try it on all different speakers and sources. So there is no need to get it perfect in the studio. Neutral speakers still have their place, but they are far less important these days. But of course, like I said it depends on your style, if you are obsessed with every little nuance from start to finish, then you will probably also be obsessed with neutral monitors. Some guys are little more wild and free and just crank it out, then clean up the sounds later.\ |
Edwina Fagel 30.08.2012 | Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pros for producing AND Dj-ing. IMO HD25 for producing is just plain stupid. |
Ciara Cuttill 30.08.2012 | senn hd 280 might be better for producing than the 25's |

Warner Rotberg 30.08.2012 | Dedicated producing headphone mate |
Dione Haimes 30.08.2012 | Depends what your doing, are you DJing or producing? The Hd25s are VERY good DJ headphones The KRKs re decent producing headphones. |
