Whats crackin DJ TECHTOOLS!!!

So im movin to Sicily in a couple of months. Im here in Midwest America and totally stoked about goin across the pond.

So i have a question for the Euro Cats in the community here.

What is the attitude toward dj's that use controllers? Im pretty sure each country is different, however any input would be amazing.

I currently run a DVS set up using the Pioneer DJM-T1 and 1200's. I have used controllers in the past (VCI-100 SE) and am looking at getting another. BUT... im curious if clubs are open minded about the use of external hardware connecting to their system.

Also, Im not one for peer pressure nor do I care if someone believes Im a button pusher. Although, im curious about the attitudes of the DJ's in Europe as well.

Thanks Guys and Gals

forget about the stuff and forget about other djs , this is not important .
You should be worried more about the music we play here in Europe .
I moved to Spain 12 years before and for me was like to go back to school , you know : another kind of people , another way to feel the music , all was different (and not so easy)

People don't care so much about what you use - Never forget : you play for the people , not for the silly djs -

me too , it's better if you don't ask .

BTW : good luck and welcome to Europe .

Lol!! Now which one ya believe?

The vci-100se was a beast and have that shit hanging on the wall. So was believeing the 400 would be just as good. I love the ean golden mappings with the jog Eco freeze! But am curious about the S4... Disappointed with the MK II though.

Just wish i could get my hands on both of them fir 8 hours! What do you guys believe?
I love my vci but at the moment am considering a controller that is completely native like the s4. Mind you the ean golden edition of the vci is native to traktor aswell.

Comparing my vci400 to my buddies s4, they are pretty much identical in use, I feel his might be abit more durable tho. 400 has plastic buttons for the main beatpad part where the s4 is squishy and nice. 400 also has a bigger filter knob which can be kind of handy. Other then that tho haven't found any differences.

Totally with you there. I have to laugh too. I love sync . I use it shamelessly

I've been syncing audio things since the late 80s ... even still have my original SMPTE to MTC convertor box in working order (Syncing Atari rig to tape). Sync'ed my way all through the nineties, the naughties and right up to now. Syncing 4 decks and Maschine these days. Why on earth would you want to spend your whole evening syncing manually in 2013? You're going to make it sound tighter are you? Pigs arse you are.

God knows the number of times I've heard 'cool' DJs doing 'nearly sync'ed' mixes while constantly running meters into the red all evening long (and not a sync button in sight).

You should be fine.... There's a lot of european DJ's / DJs playing in Europe that use controllers, macbooks, SYNC buttons. Like @patch said, there are idiots wherever you go, personally, i couldnt see a club kicking up a fuss about what gear you use.. only some of the crowd.

Your probably get other DJs bitch about it, but who gives a F!? JUst go for it :-)

The UK view is usually "Vinyl and CDJ's is better but I'll accept that you use a controller, just don't use sync" and then they proceed to use a BPM counter to get their tracks perfectly in sync. Figure that one out.

Vci 100se - by far one of the best controllers of its day. Well built, tsi files perfectly integrated with traktor and simplicity of use. Love that controller! Nice set up brother.

Im not a booth spotter, but what i ve realised here in Rhodes Greece, is that in most clubs and bars there is a laptop involved which is on and the dj looks at the screen now and again. so if there is a laptop, it makes little difference wether it is controlled with a controller/cdjs or mixer.

It's very much accepted across the United States, a friend of mine just moved to Maui and has caught no heat for it, and when I was in Germany, I saw two different DJs using the Traktor S4 in big clubs.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you'll probably be alright.

You stand or fall by the tunes you select and when you let them drop.

How you achieve that is completely irrelevant. The crowd don't care or know how to.

Ultimately they are your judge and jury.

As long as they are dancing anything else is garnish and showing off your skills to other DJ's who know what you're doing

I play a little bit of each genre. Mostly (Darker) Tech House and Liquid DnB at the moment. I like to feed off of other DJ's and crowds and there choice of genre. Then dig and find my own style. hahahaha mostly turns out dark and grimy. So im pretty open minded.

And its Taco Pizza! you havent lived until you have had a proper toco pizza!
