What's your Dream Gig?
Posted on: 07.11.2012 by Noriko Lebowitz
Part of my Dubspot Assignment this week is to make a Playlist for a Dream Gig, so I was just curious to hear about others...

Mine would definitely be a prime time Progressive house set at Pacha or Space in Ibiza.

What about you guys?

edit:
Have you ever been? I'm watching the youtube videos. I'm a huge psytrance fan. If I ever get good at dj'ing thats the genre I want to play for the world.

Good answer!!!!

I wasn't too young, but I live in America, and though it was also pretty good over here back in the day, I can only imagine how much better it was across the pond.

To this day, the best evening i've ever had DJing in my life was at this small 300 person venue that had a stage in the middle at the same height as the dancefloor. While I was spinning ppl were on all three sides of my setup and the energy was insane.

So my dream gig would be to relive that evening or something similar!
sensation but with a smaller stage?

I'm believeing along the same lines, with playing a heavy psy-trance set to a dosed up bunch of ravers in a field in the middle of nowhere...

I would like to be the Dj at burning man. Where thousands of people from around the globe come and jam out to my mixes 7 days long in the desert just having the time of our lives. No big city chaos. More like big desert chaos!!! WHOOO!!! I can imagine it now. It's pretty cool looking in my mind

Funky house at Boiler Room, any kind of music at The Tangent Gallery/Hasting Street Ballroom in Detroit. I like my venues to have a patina to them.

I have had many dreams so far and have accomplished a few.

Big (1000+ people) indoor gig. DONE.
Big (1000+ people) gig in the park. DONE.

What I would love to do:

Proper warehouse rave.
Festival gig.
Inimate only vinyl gig in a forrest/countryside or a really small cafe or club.

I would like to go back in time to the late 70s/early 80s and DJ at one of the early hip-hop spots in NYC. It would be amazing to experience that scene where and when it began, plus if I could take my current skills back in time with me I'd be way better than any hip-hop DJ that was around then, haha.

Currently taking Digital DJing with Traktor Pro 2(On level 3)

It's an amazing course. I went into it being pretty familiar with traktor and Djing, and honestly I learned a ton new things. It really has brought my DJing to a higher level. Highly Recommended.
