The DJM-1000 is an extremely common club install and is 2 inches wider? Not sure what you're getting at. Most clubs I've been in with their own kit have 19" mixers... I most commonly see the smaller form factors in situations where people are bringing their own kit.

the DJM-2000 is a pretty popular mixer. I personally know several people who own one (me included) and I see them fairly commonly in DJ booths/on stages. Willing to throw down money that now that it has a built in peak limiter and that beat slicer we're gonna see an explosion of them... beat slicer looks as deliciously fun as slip roll.

It's 4" wider than a DJM-900...

Q: What are the differences with the DJM-2000?

A: This unit carries over the layout and functions of the DJM-2000, but also includes the two new functions below.
1. Slicing out sampled phrases of music and adding beat arrangements – Beat Slice Remix.
2. Sync Master for controlling the beats of tracks played on connected players collectively.
Through this, the PRO DJ LINK function for connecting to the CDJ-2000nexus and other Pioneer DJ players is improved, and a wider variety of music arrangements can be made with greater accuracy. Furthermore, the endurance of the channel faders and the sound quality required for gear that is installed permanently in clubs have also been improved.

15.11.2012		Nah, it will be fine. It's a refined DJM-2000.

You are even using the same firmware for both of them. I'm excited about the Sampler finally becoming useful and am glad that I don't have to upgrade.

Q: Tell me about the firmware update (Ver. 3.0) for the DJM-2000.

A: The same firmware can be used for the DJM-2000 and DJM-2000nexus. By updating your DJM-2000 to firmware version 3.0, the same functions as the DJM-2000nexus can be used on your DJM-2000.

I feel like that's the MAIN upgrade. Sure they have diff knobs and a few color effects, but the whole big thing imo about the DJM 2000 was always the touch screen and its capabilities. That's what really differentiates it from the 900 nexus I believe anyway.

15.11.2012		According to Pioneer FAQs, the entire software section is getting rolled onto the DJM-2000 mk1. Making this literally an upgrade for a 32 bit DAC, and potentially faders if the new ones cant be retrofitted. Great news for 2000 owners, and our resale value.

Not that Id ever want to sell mine .
