Reply to no midifighter detected

hi, im new to the midifighter and DJing in general. i bought the midifighter 3d and then downloaded the midifighter utility, but it will not detect the midifighter for some reason, (no midifighter detected), i am on a mac computer. also do i need to buy a remixer or anything else in order to use my midifighter, if so its fine i have one, but i would also like to use my midifighter by itself. can someone please walk me through the steps to make my midifighter work? thank you.
