well man,a few things that might help you:
-1-a small loop pedal can be used by hand and its as big as a small sound card,i know a few kats that do this.
-2 'mobius' is the name of a great stripped down software looper i used for years before i got my RC-300.
-3 like stated earlier in this thread, the Kaos pad does some basic looping and has fancy effects and i believe its midi too.
-4 if you send me a message with a description of what exactly you are trying to do with an external looper,i might be able to help you better.i had a hard time with Traktors looper unless i was onna s2-s4,so i mapped keys to strike and put in remix decks.again,a better description as to what you wanna achieve would help.i practice-write-and perform with a loop pedal, but the RC-300 is a computer for looping with your foot, giving the illusion of multiple DJ's or artists.-hope this helps.

Check out the old cycloops unit.. I believe ull c one in the loco dice vid on djtt vid recently

If i remember, u can capture 8 seperate loops and play any of them at same time.. U can stretch them or adjust tempo too

Cant believe of any that aint foot pedals.

Why dont you use traktors loop recorder? It does exactly as it says on the tin!

Its a ball ache to setup up with an external mixer but a quick search on youtube will give you loads of tutorials on how to do it.
