RMX 1000 effects and Traktor Solution
RMX 1000 effects and Traktor Solution Posted on: 16.12.2012 by Malcom Koelzer Hiim wondering spending much money for a RMX 1000 or having a midi solution by Traktor with controller mapped...? is Traktor have those effects that RMX 1000 have? also some one tell me how its different from powerful DJM effects unit? | |
Kellie Myrum 21.12.2012 | That really depend, some units are sharing the same values and some of them are not. Here is example of mine: rgb_colors.jpg |

Kellie Myrum 21.12.2012 | This is a bit off-topic here. Maybe you should use this thread to post your progress. http://community .djranking s.com/showthread.php?t=23910 |
Malcom Koelzer 21.12.2012 | i mapped the top button set...i believe its only have green colour |
Malcom Koelzer 21.12.2012 | no no no sry my bad...i have put it wrong...ill put a sg after i finished thanks. |
Malcom Koelzer 21.12.2012 | well im mapping now...but got a problem...i mapped the button one then when i mapping the 2nd button i cant put any values that you have put in there...it always stays at 0 and 1 |
Kellie Myrum 21.12.2012 | That really depend, some units are sharing the same values and some of them are not. Here is example of mine: rgb_colors.jpg |
Malcom Koelzer 21.12.2012 | normally what values should keep there...do you know correct values of them...its goes 0 to 127 |
Kellie Myrum 21.12.2012 | Yes, this parameters will work with any MIDI controller. Just make sure to set correct LED color for each button using MIDI range values. |
Malcom Koelzer 21.12.2012 | i have a Akai APC 20 sir...thanks alot for the mappings..so these mapping is correct for it right?! |
Kellie Myrum 21.12.2012 | Been posting it before. Type this in controller range for each button. -Button 1 / 0.000 - 0.970 -Button 2 / 0.000 - 0.875 -Button 3 / 0.000 - 0.760 -Button 4 / 0.000 - 0.680 -Button 5 / 0.000 - 0.480 -Button 6 / 0.000 - 0.350 -Button 7 / 0.000 - 0.120 -Button 8 / 0.000 - 0.050 I don't know which controller are you using so if it support multicolor LEDs you'll need to tweak MIDI range to change colors. |
Malcom Koelzer 21.12.2012 | this is to the Sir Ministry of Mapping please show us the mapping that how the Master Volume is mapped like this.its shows as the first one in this video... |
Malcom Koelzer 21.12.2012 | please can some one mention few controllers that suits to use just as fx controller....i believe Novation Launch Pad is a good solution to map effects like rolls etc any more suggestions? |

Malcom Koelzer 18.12.2012 | a thing that i experience is...the usage of mapped thing and not mapped thing is different...i mean the usage of a FX Ready unit and a Mapped FX Midi controller....t feels like it there...no need to worrie about its working or not...loosing mappers...even for getting to use it without a mistake have to practice long or have to name the buttons which s rarely happen only that the RMX is very very expensive...i also like the EFX 1000 also...i believe selecting fx by turning the knob in DJM mixers is less likely to use than a effects that are in efx unt...cuz all effects are ready with separate buttons |
Nereida Jasnoch 18.12.2012 | I've always wondered about this and now that there 's a related thread about this I might as well share. The RMX is really cool and an awesome product but it's too expensive for me. Especially since I feel like an overkill of effects such a turn off. But instead we create an ableton live template/mapping (surely the ableton one will lack a bit in functionality but it could still be great.) And no need to completely copy pioneer, we could give it our own twist. I really like the idea but I lack the know how though. I really hate mapping and complicated effects chains in ableton. But we have a few mapping gurus that frequent the community so... |
Danae Dumler 18.12.2012 | The RMX is just ridiculously fun to play on. The fat isolator knobs are sweet, the way Pioneer thought of to "escape" an effect when you're ready to listen to music again is incredibly intuitive (and you can do it in two different ways, two different directions each). Being able to apply effects to different parts of the spectrum easily (and again, intuitively) is a really nice feature. Traktor effects, on the other hand, are infinitely customizable, and you can play them with whatever interface you like, or roll your own. The combinations you can do in Traktor are incredibly powerful, and you can also be really subtle with them, which you simply can't do with the Pioneer. All the pio effects are sort of "in your face". However, you can change them on the Pio with some programming as I understand it but I have no clue how intuitive it is. I believe the Pio also sends midi so if you wanted to, you could make it into a badass controller for Traktor effects. So I suppose the RMX has the edge over Traktor, and it could easily be combined with Traktor. The other downside of Traktor effects is that you have to spend hours mapping combos to really customize them well; the RMX is something you can just start hammering on. I really can't justify adding a RMX to my setup at this time, but if I come into an extra $600 I'd consider it; they are just so damn fun to play. |
Lise Kleinhaus 18.12.2012 | i believe this is a Livid Instruments CNTRL:R. By the way, really cool effectcombo. I have too look how i can map this for my controllers. |

Kellie Myrum 17.12.2012 | Here is a quick one. Note that I've mapped pads for effect indicators for every EQ range. |
Beverlee Bedrin 17.12.2012 | That would be cool to check out! |
Kellie Myrum 17.12.2012 | I can make it |
Beverlee Bedrin 17.12.2012 | got a video that shows this? |
Kellie Myrum 17.12.2012 | Mapped modifier per knob and assigned echo to turn on when knob is in half middle position to all the way up. I use one free deck for this. Hit isolator mode button = Deck duplicate > load deck EQ kill on! Moving any of frequency knobs over 12 o'clock mutes original track EQ and un-mute duplicated deck EQ where effect is applied. |
Beverlee Bedrin 17.12.2012 | Some effects can be replicated but others can not. One example would be the isolator effects or frequency effects. Being able to apply an effect only to the highs or mids is something traktor can't replicate. If you ever get to use a RMX1000, play around on it and you'll notice how easy and fun it can be. |
