DJ Agreements / Contracts / Proposals

Don't know if any of you are required to sign a contract or a legal agreement for your gigs, clubs performances, residencies, etc.

I was wondering if you can share some or perhaps a proposal for getting a gig, DJ job?

Contracts are an imporant part of any businuess, people just manage to find a way to skrew you over if you havent got one written out. Sadly ive had alot of experience of being ****ed over because i didnt have a contract and since have learnt to allways have a signed contracts no matter how big or small the job. With a contract there is clearly no agrueing to what the conditions of your employment was and you will have no troubles agrueing that in court should it come to that.

People are aresholes, theres people who want nothing more than to hold onto their money and get work done for free. So protect yourself wherever possible, this is especially true when the conditions of your employment are not as strait forward as just doing a couple hours work for a set ammount of $.

Yeah, if you're being paid a substantial amount of money, then the promoter is usually going to want a contract. You, however, can have your own rider, which basically is the reverse and states your requirements. ...It's all about negotiation.

I used to work off of contracts, now I just get paid upfront when I get to the event.
