Reply to Having trouble getting smooth transitions

I'm attempting my first mix but I just can't seem to get the transitions between songs to go smoothly.
It might be that I'm 'trying too hard' and that I should just stick to the basics, because I'm messing around with cue points and effects (although I believe I overuse the Delay freeze effect). I'm having trouble getting to grips with the 'build-up' chained effects presets from Ean's video.

Any tips?
