Monoprice Studio Monitors?
Posted on: 23.04.2013 by Arielle Posso
So apparently monoprice has started making some really interesting items. They now make Computer monitors & Studio monitors. I was wondering if anyone has used these. The few reviews on their website have all been positive. I'm actually in the market for some new speakers because I managed to destroy the crappy PS monitors that I've been using a while ago and its keeping me from doing proper mixes. Anyway tell me what you believe about them

Well thats good to know. I wasn't expecting Rokit quality. I'm gonna buy a pair next week. It'll definitely be a step up from the computer speakers I was using.

Most probably not. The cone in the pictures seems to be a different material, and redesigning the circuitry for the HF level switch would be too much of an effort for a company like monoprice...

My monitors came in last week, and I'm actually pretty impressed with them. They have a flat response which is what I was looking for. They get to be pretty loud without distorting. One thing is the sound doesn't really spread out too much, you have to be in between both monitors for the best sound. Which isn't a bad thing but I don't have them up off my desk high enough so it kinda sucks. I can probably fix that by raising them up but its not all that important right now. Mostly because they're perfectly fine when I'm sitting down. All in all they're really good monitors for the money.

Let us know how it works out for you. Thinking of getting a pair when I run into some money. Whenever that will be.

I believe they're more likely to be the Energy.

Some of Monoprice's other monitors are Energy.

They're just rebranded Energy Take's.

For the price you could do worse, and the fact that they're bi-amp'd is pretty cool.
