I watched tricky at a festival a while back and he was a total let down.

I found analysis of the song TOUCH : "Without going into a full album analysis, this track seems to be about the robot’s inability to understand a human phenomenon like touch triggered memory. The robot desires a full explanation based in logic. The temporal setting of this song is after task explained in the previous sentence has been “completed”, but obviously there was some glossing over things and the incompleteness of these “random access” memories is due to the human error. Ironically, it’s a perfect robot that wants to be human.
Simply beautiful."
OMG i took it a completely different way!! I heard it as Paul Williams struggle in life... Each little "part" in the song describes a part of his life. Living through decades on drugs... then giving up on life.... then finding joy in life by finding love and being sober.

It's just not that good of an album. The album was way too spread with no main 'message'. The supposed groove was really quite weak. There were quite a few rehashed riffs in there.
I tend to agree, I was disappointed by the album, it was never going to be an 'EDM' (really dislike that term) album with dancefloor ready tracks and tbh I would've been very disapproving if it had been, however I just don't believe it's very good. If it had been released by a new band/producer it would not register much of a ripple on most people's radar - the long gap between albums, the recent mainstream of acceptance of pop/dance music in the US and because it's Daft Punk have pushed the hype right up. Obviously it's going to be huge over the Summer months but I do wonder come this time next year or in 5 or 10 years, will people still be playing it and will it stand up to scrutiny... I'm not sure it will personally.

Yep theres some good main room house I like, and of course I do like Electro... but I feel more of a swing styled groove is a nice kick back from the standard in your face, over compressed synth, that is so prevalent today

After having been hearing the album a few times, I can say my favorite track is Contact. I know it's the one that has relatively nothing to do with the other ones from the album, but it's really really really dope and reminds me of Alive 2007 (that encore, wow).

I saw a Daft Punk ad on TV last evening , the usual Get Lucky riff jingle, but it was sped up, like 128 ish sped up, and then some white text flashed after it and I missed it. Absolutely swear it was sped up.

each song has some kind of key relation to the next. I believe they explored the vocoder alot more. I have listened to the whole album probably 20 times now (im in the car alot). I must say im not getting tired of it,i cant even seem to recall the lyrics when the song is playing. usually i can remember the lyrics from just one listen. I thing the album is quite good, the song "touch" is just awesome.

Bought the album yesterday:

1. Yes, the Pharrell tracks are the best.
2. The album is great, but it's not something new.
3. The album sounds great when played as an album, not hearing each song individually.
4. It would be so cool to see "Daft Punk Live"... like Bangalter and Guy-Man playing with the synths and Nathan East playing the bass and other guys with drums or guitars...

Just my thoughts

The album was severely overhyped IMO.

It's a decent album but not anywhere near as good as their past albums.
