XDJ-R1 "Clone"
XDJ-R1 "Clone" Posted on: 02.06.2013 by Doreen Schurle I use the term "clone" in quotes because this came out two years ago, and doesn't have CD drives or wireless, but it's pretty funny nonetheless. The thing I don't get is, how the hell did nobody notice this 2 years ago? :P EDIT: DVS-capable too, as it's a 4-in/4-out with support for phono input from TTs as well as line level sources. And TWO USB ports! | |

i don't believe reloops are OEM.
BTW, there is nothing wrong with that. Most of the products we buy are made at places like Hanpin and not at the company whose logo is plastered on the case. Also, Hanpin can make exceptional gear. As with most OEM/ODMs, it's up to how good your product specification is and how well everything is managed. |
Leon Albornoz 02.06.2013 | I just can't understand why do you say the new XDJ-R1 is a clone of that or vice-versa. They are completely different units. If you say that it's because they support midi, cd's, usb's, etc, well... then you can also say a Fiat 500 is a clone of a Ferrari 458 Italia. They both have 4 wheels, a steering wheel, an engine... I don't get it? |
Jonathan Chiuchiolo 02.06.2013 | yep there hanpin, along with older stanton and dj-tech, zomo et. al... it's all about money.. reloop pay more so get better quality components.. Personally I like reloop! I have had a DJ3, DJ2 and contour IE.. I just though MDC worked for their marketing team.. Now I'm not so sure... |
Gaynell Rydberg 02.06.2013 | What does the screen being similar have to do with anything? They aren't the same controller. The Stanton looks like it has a full line of text more than the Reloop. |

Alphonso Deitchman 02.06.2013 | Pretty much everything on-screen is identical, the layout is just slightly different. |

Alphonso Deitchman 02.06.2013 | The screen on the Reloop RMPs looks almost identical to those all-in-ones and the Stanton CMP |

Diogo Dj Dragão 02.06.2013 | This is a product by a DJ gear
OEM called Hanpin. These companies have purchased and released the model with minimal changes. Pretty sure you could also find it under the Akiyama and Voxoa brands as well. The VFD displays give it away. They've been using that display for years. Look at the Radius line of CD players for instance. Still, Hanpin generally makes good products, so that's not a knock. Just wanted to explain why several companies have the same looking product. |

They did say it was pretty sturdy though, all-metal construction which is always a good thing. Citronic rebadged it as well haha. |

Dannie Dimora 02.06.2013 | because it's not a clone.. It's kind of a small, phat aero without wifi. Also, -1000 on the old-looking-hawtin doppleganger using 128kbps mp3s in the video.. |
