I've got a real pair that I've had for 10 years. They haven't loosened up! The hinge HAS gone on the left hand side - nothing that couldn't be fixed with some super glue and some tightly wound wire...

I've also got a fake pair that I paid

hahaha I had that problem, but they seemed to get really loose after a few uses.

I also remember my friend paying full price for a fake pair on eBay and they being a better fit than the real ones haha

I went through 3 pairs of the V700s because of the hinge issue, they are famed for it - they sounded great but shocking build.

For less than $100 these are hard to beat. For $56, I should buy an extra pair. I thought the bass might be overwhelming for DJing, since these are compared to Beats by DRE so often, but it's nice and balanced with the mids and highs complementing the bass. They look and feel amazing and they are comfortable as hell. The cord is short, but it works for me. I don't dance around the stage, and if I have to step away from the mixer, I pull off my headphones.

PROS:
Quality build and stylish design.
Super soft earcups and extremely comfortable fit.
Very nice balanced sound. Good bass, pronounced mids and sizzling highs.
Flat cord is awesome.
Bargain Basement price.

CONS:
Cord could be a little longer. (only 47.2 inches)
No 1/4 inch adapter included.
No storage pouch included.

>

CONS
I got some of these about 5. Months ago, and they've been brilliant

I did get an extension cable, since I found it just a tad too short.

I haven't seen any phones anywhere near as good for this price. I was a bit peeved when I had to spend 2 hours trying to find a store that sold the mini jack to large jack adaptor, but that's it.

I hope I like them. I won't pay more than $80 for headphones.

I'll DJ with earbuds if I have to.

It is cool as a cheap consumer option, but it isn't really a replacement for the 500.
So can pay $35 more for a coiled cord and less bass. Got it.

The 7506, V6, and V600 have been regarded as the "industry standard" for decades by studio professionals and audio engineers, and at less than $100, they're a much better value than those "beats" crap.

bottom line is I have to try them on. This is the first time I buy online without trying them first.

for $56 it seems like a no brainer.

How far do you guys stand from the mixer?

The cord on the V55's is 4 feet long (47.2")

My HD 205's had a 10' cord that was annoying as hell. I had to tie a loop and heat shrink it down to 5 feet.

EDIT: Just pulled out my broken HD 205's that I used for 6 years and measured the cord I modified. 50 inches plug to ear. Wow. 3 inches longer than the V55's. Guess I hate long cords.

The cable on the 55s is ludicrously short. Pretty much unusable for DJing without an extension of some sort.

Mate, you should get your self some of these: Sony MDR V500DJ. By far the best headphones I've ever had and they last for years. I've taken them on log flumes and had them soaked, tried smashing them when I've been DJing drunk, crushed them in my kit bag and I've hammered them for over 4 years and the only thing wrong with them is that they are a little scuffed and the material over the sponge is worn. I'm not on my second pair and I only have them as a good will gesture from DJKit for selling me a dodgy American Audio VMS2.

Every DJ should have a have a pair of these as a pair of back up headphones at least, they don't cost a lot but they are worth every penny. GET SOME!!

The red cable looks cool?

I used to have a pair of 7506's, thought they were great but wanted something better. I ended up with HDJ-2000's.....yes the HDJ's were better headphones, but it was then when I really appreciated how well the 7506's sounded for the 85 bucks I paid for them. If these sound anything similar they're well worth the 56 bucks.
