Does this product even exist? For Vinyl... Posted on: 21.07.2013 by Delena Katherman So, I recently converted from an S4 to Technics and Traktor Scratch Pro. I've been buying some vinyl records, of course, in addition to using control vinyl. I'm looking for an easy way to carry some records to a venue, so I assumed that someone out there produced a "wallet" for vinyl (similar to the CD wallets you can buy where you just put the disc in a sleeve and leave the case behind). Obviously it would be much bigger to accommodate a 12", but the concept would be the same. I could easily flip through the book and select a record from a protective sleeve, and I would leave the actual cardboard and paper record sleeves at home. It wouldn't have to hold a lot of records. However, I can't seem to find anything like this online. Does anyone know if something like this exists? If not, obviously I could simply pack the records in their original sleeves inside a traditional DJ bag (my Mono EFX bag can hold vinyl) but it would still be nice to have the item I described. Thanks for any insight! | |

I know there are lots of options for carrying records and their original sleeves, but I was surprised that there weren't more options like the UDG Wallet that Synthet1c posted. Like Craig said, the UDG record sleeve is still available in the UK, but it doesn't look like it's being manufactured anymore (and no US shops are selling it). And, it has "Serato" branding on the front (not a big deal, but I'm a Traktor DJ). I still believe there is a niche market for the item I'm ideally looking for, but it might be too "niche" to be very profitable! Mdcdesign? Let's build some! |

Tania Somppi 22.07.2013 | Courier record bag? I prefer a good solid record box with an angle across the top so you see the vinyl while you flicker thro, lock your tunes and headphones away in and it's a makeshift seat to sit on while you're waiting to play |

Teresia Janusch 22.07.2013 | You can get small record bags...that hold 20, but the rest of the space could accommodate headphones etc... |

Delena Katherman 22.07.2013 | Looks like the UDG record sleeve is no longer available, but that's exactly what I had in mind. |

Jonathan Chiuchiolo 22.07.2013 | There is still a bit of a niche left as that only fits 8 records and there is no place to store your needles without a separate case, but that thing would cost probably $2 to manufacture minus the embroidered logo. |

Doreen Schurle 22.07.2013 | Let me do some research/haggling and see if I can find out a) how much it'll cost to have them produced, and b) whether or not there's a market for them |

Gaynell Rydberg 21.07.2013 | Uhh. Why not just use like a milk crate type of thing? Although I really do believe you should use the outer sleeve. It's good protection on top of the inner sleeve. |
