So i got robbed on Saturday evening ...
Lost pretty much everything of use. Laptop, DJing gear and my my top drawer full of electronics and everything i use on a day to day basis, and the ****ing reciepts for everything that got taken

Please keep eyes peeled for:
Vestax VCI-100 dj controller (black, very worn, easy to distinguish)
Midifighter 3d (comparatively rare item, likely if there's one for sale somewhere it's mine)
Technics rpdj1200 headphones
gopro
ipod touch 8gb black
and my macbook pro 15"[? the smallest one] which has a small dent on the bottom and uses an imitation power adapter, without the apple logo engraved into the plastic

I had Prey installed but i didn't read the ****ing instructions so i never opened an unprotected account to allow the burglar to log in and activate the software If you use Prey, do this immediately.

Any assitance in finding any of this stuff would be hugely appreciated, because it's basically GG music career otherwise. Also my only income was from DJing, so effectively, someone has stolen my job.

This is a good reminder for anyone who doesn't have it. Get freaking renter/home owners insurance. It's generally pretty cheap $15-30 a month. Then take pictures of your gear and email them to yourself every so often. If my place burns down, gets broken into, or any other horrible thing happens to it, the insurance company will write me a check. And it my case, it is a check for actual replacement value. I've only had to use it once (for a 3 year old laptop) and they ended up giving me more than what I originally payed for it.

Also make backups of your music or anything else that can't be replaced with money and keep them some place other than your house. Well really if it is something you care about, you should have 3 copies: original, local backup and off-site backup, but that's for another thread.

I really hope that this thread helps catch the a**holes that did this!

Hey Kaon,

What's up with the burglar that was busted because he screamed loud while robbing a place?

First step is to RUNNNN to the closest Apple store, they can locate your Macbook and you'll probably find your gear there too.

Keep us updated mate.

P.S. How can you be stolen if you were dj'ing? Did you not stock your stuff in a safe room in the club? Does the club have any guarantee in your contract?

Sorry to hear about this. As someone who had a similar thing happen about 3 years ago, I feel your pain. Hopefully you have better luck recovering yours than I did. I had about $3000 worth of stuff disappear

I'm not one for violence, but seems everybody else is, whoever did it will probably get the shit kicked out of them whether i like it or not ^_^

I live in Hamiton New Zealand, but it's a small country so it's possible it could be sold from anywhere in New Zealand. Cheers for your support

I hope he has some kind of backup system... It's not just a job they stole, but also his passion. I hope those lowlife scumsuckers get the living snot beaten out of them. Also, is this in the UK or elsewhere?
