Gear looks vs functionality
Posted on: 31.07.2013 by Alton Kronberger
Hey djranking s!
I've been djing for a little over a year now. So far I've only dj'd at private partys but Id like to do some bigger gigs in the future. I have aqcuired enough controllers to basicly map anything i'd want in traktor. I use a hercules mk4 as my main controller, a launchpad for hotcues and remix decks, and a cmd dv-1 for effects. The problem is my gear doesnt look very professional. Especially the mk4 looks like a toy.
Do you believe it would be worth the investment of getting a more professional looking controller, even tho im fine with how the mk4 functions? (So the looks would be the only added value for me.) What do you believe about the importance of your gear's looks in general?
