Using DAW to build your remix decks?

Is this what people are doing? I can not seem to get everything sounding "tight" using the F1 i have. It would seem alot easier to use a DAW and import them. Or is there something i am missing?

Samples/loops also have a beat grid, so if it is off, that sample/loop will be out of phase with the others. Just load the offending sample/loop into a track deck and fix the grid.
Of course if it is a sample with a drifting tempo you would need to warp it in Ableton.
