Got the gear what is the next step

Ok so I went cheap ( very cheap since I have a habbit off staying intrested in a hobby for a month or less ) but I want to start off and I don't know where to put my foot. Me and my brother will be building a midi fighter later on. My gear is the Numark Omni Control. So could you guys please help me onto a video or a article or something. I dont know where to start.
