Moving into an apartment, going to build a nice setup but need building ideas/help!

I am 6'6" so I would like to do an Ikea style setup but I just don't see the Expedit being tall enough unless I add about 5 levels to it haha..

I don't know if anyone here has and good table ideas/creative ideas that they want to throw my way, help is appreciated.

I am trying to do a full setup, table, lights etc, I want it to be very aesthetically pleasing!

Thanks everyone!

Haha thanks, it's a nickname that was given to me at the beginning of highschool and 10 years later it is still sticking.

Mostly I play moombahton, trap, hip hop, different styles of house(deep, progressive, house, electro) ..been DJing for a couple years now, nothing too seriously though. I just started to take it much more seriously and would like to start playing for people which is one of the reasons i want to build a nice area, there is a spare room in the apartment I am moving into that I would like to turn into a room people can come over and hangout/get weird in..

I'm going to start uploading stuff to soundcloud and I'll be putting that in my sig, still playing in the bedroom and havent played out much yet.

At 6'6", I recon your best bet is to go for something like a 4x2 expedit, with a Lck Tv Shelf on top (http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/40105340/) and then put a table top on top of teh lack, and a couple of legs at the back...

Maybe stick some legs (http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/50205198/) on the bottom if it's still not high enough...
Good ideas! I will be going to Ikea in a week or two and buying some stuff for myself, I will take a peek at what they have for tables like the LACK and see how they would look on top of the expedit. Hopefully I won't need to get legs for the bottom of it, I would like it to be solid on the ground..

That is an awesome desk but it looks like it only goes up to 52" and measuring that seems it will be a little short for comfort for me after a while

Thats a 2x4 expedit on its side, nothing to raise it up, and its the perfect height for me. There is a 2x4 on the left, with my old receiver and tape recorder in it, and another 2x4 on its side like an L that has the center 4 squares removed so I could stick a bass amp in it. Now its just an old speaker I dont use. On top of that, is a 2x4 expedit that is actually only 1x4 on its side with half of it covered. It holds my records. The bottom has been raised up so that the tops of the records stick out.

Expedit furniture is a DJs dream.

another great idea: The glass on the wall is a cupboard door from Ikea. Frosted glass, and brushed aluminium for the frame. Theres an LED bar in behind it that puts on a nice light show. I use it as a dry erase board when Im playing around trying to find tracks that match.
