Seriously dude, do some research. Then, when you have some more specific questions the community will help but these OPEN ended questions just show a lack of basic research.

Also, if this turns into Mac vs Pc its gets shut.

MAC PC's bug out using my Traktor Kontrol S4, Even the lowergrade macbooks such as the macbook air run perfectly due to its super quick Flash. I currently have a PC, but upgrading soon because i'm tired of constantly having to configure it to play fine live, and still then i get audio drops, Mac is Best for music, that's just my opinion.

Mac vs. Linux?

You can definitely run some nice DJ software on a computer running Linux, and for free, and legal. Want to go the ULTRA cheap route? $150 netbook, and MIXXX.

But you have to come back to your thread for us to help you.

Yeah, if it were up to me again. I'd invest in a MacBook! (Not that I have any problems with the XPS.) I make sure to use the PC only for music and the occasional Counterstrike...

If you can't get the MacBook new, look for it used.

I'd actually get something a bit over-specced than the minimum system requirements for the software. You're going to want a little "room to grow" for software updates, etc. Go over on the RAM and CPU especially.

I use a Dell XPS 17...17 inches of glory. 12 ain't enough for me. It penetrates deep into any DVS. Great for production. Doesn't prematurely shutdown or stop in the middle of long sessions. Easy to turn on, hard to turn off.
