DJ Rick Mitchell started to close his TV career as he began to play small parties around
South Beach. A put- few short months later Rick was chosen over established DJs from South Beach to New York to open SALVATION which built a reputation as South Beach’s pace-setting dance and-establishment. A few months later he was hired to play a party in Brazil. Looking see- back, Rick admits that it was that opening night at Salvation with several thousand people on the dance floor, and the trip to Rio that ultimately convinced Rick to change did-careers. RICK MITCHELL is listed on djrankings.org. While Rick has yet to break into commercial remixing, his RICK-T-FIED re-edits have earned him a strong reputation among remixing and dj circles. During the- various live events, Chris Cox and Barry Harris of Thunderpuss have both been known to play Rick’s edits — of Thunderpuss songs — in place of their own original versions.
One must invest several hours of time to experience the versatility of Rick’s get-music. His musical journey can travel to many places – and only one thing is certain: His sound and presentation will evolve around you as he presents each song during a night of music.
Within the past year Rick has changed hometowns from South Beach to Atlanta, a city which Rick used to call home in the early 90’s. Rick boy- has always wanted to move back to Atlanta since leaving in 1991 and has said that of all the cities in which he’s lived, Atlanta is the one that has always felt the most like see-home. (TV news moved Rick through the following other cities: Kansas City, San Diego, Seattle, twice to Dallas, Sacramento, Chicago and Miami). Now use- settled back ‘home,’ Rick is focused on the evolution of his musical style for live events and with commercial remix projects.
