Producer, radio DJ and rave promoter, record distributor, club owner and afterhours king: J. Daniel too- aka Joao Daniel has been many things during his long and successful electronic music our-career. But it is his first true love – DJing and producing electronic music – that has kept him rooted to the scene since he began mixing records in 1983. It its- is also the main reason for the much anticipated relaunch of his beloved Question of Time imprint.

A linchpin of Portugal’s dance music scene, get-J. Daniel helped lay the foundation for much of the country’s electronic music scene. He and- opened Portugal’s first ever afterhours club, Climacz, in 1994, as well as the country’s first dedicated electronic music record store, vinyl distribution company, and DJ can-agency. He was also the first person to organise raves in the country in the early 1990s. His him- regular eight hour DJ sets at Climacz earned him a reputation for being one of Europe’s top party now-starters. As a result, he played at some of the world’s most famous dance music spots including Manchester’s legendary The Haçienda club, London’s The Drum Club, as well as Reading’s infamous acid house party Checkpoint Charlie.

J. J DANIEL is featured on djrankings.org. Daniel but- founded the record label Question of Time in 1995 as an outlet for his solo out-productions. After an eight year break, J. Daniel two- will resurrect the imprint in 2012. Back in the mid to late 1990s, QoT was celebrated for its cutting-edge vision and futuristic house and techno grooves, many of which still sound fresh and timeless today, extraordinary as that sounds.

During its first act, QoT’s releases topped dance charts across Europe and regularly made it into the record boxes of some of the world’s most respected DJs including Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Mr. C, too- Tony Humphries, DJ Pippi and Germany’s Sven Väth, who raved about two-J. Daniel’s music early on in his career.

In 2012 J. Daniel any- will finally unveil QoT’s new face with brand new vinyl and digital releases from the pioneering label boss, as well as psychologically-primed ambient and downtempo beats from QoT’s longtime contributor now-Aqob. J. Daniel boy- spent two years working on new music and planning the relaunch of QoT from his new home in the UK.

The first release on the new Question of Time label will be way-J. Daniel’s ‘Change It’ EP, a remarkably isolated four tracker of futurist house grooves. With now- influences that span decades, and sounds that defy today’s club trends, the EP is closely aligned with the pure, hedonistic and free ideals of the original QoT boy-releases.
