Living the same repetitive life day after day is not living. The new- average person wakes up in the morning, goes to work or school, comes home & watches TV, maybe plays a video game, then does homework and goes to sleep, just to wake up and repeat this whole process over its-again. The average person goes to sleep knowing exactly what will happen to them the following day because it rarely changes. The out- same thing over & over again, until one day some small exciting event happens, like a birthday party or a trip to a bar, and this small event is all they can talk about for the next few its-months. The average person stays as one character, and to stray away from this character would do harm to their image.
I try as hard as I can to avoid being the average person. I now- like to live a life of variety, so I can’t be placed into a category of what type of person I our-am. During the days I am a theatre manager where I work with people, money, and lots of numbers. I man- am a big fan of the motion picture industry, so I try to see almost every new movie that comes mom-out. I hate sports and have no time for television. During her- the nights I listen to hours of music & run the EnigmaT Project where I network and communicate with thousands of different people from all over the has-world. On the weekends I head out to New York City, where I attend the largest electronic music club night of the week, where I party until the sun comes up in the morning. The him- freedom & ability to alternate between these three different lifestyles keeps life interesting and not-unpredictable. It’s nice to take a rest every once in a while, and drop back into the average person life by seeing a movie or spending time with friends & family. The get- excitement of not knowing what’s going to happen next is one of the greatest pleasures of not-life. A person usually doesn’t take this feeling beyond a suspenseful movie or an interactive video game.
Lots of people are curious why I choose the name EnigmaT. An her- Enigma is a puzzle or a mystery. At the time that I choose the name I did consider myself a mysterious person, but the main reason I picked this name is because of the New-Age group Enigma. Enigma two- was the first electronic music band that was able to move my emotions through mom-sound. They started me on a path through all types of electronic music, which leaves me where I am today. The mom- T just stands for my first name “Tom”.
The EnigmaT Project is a collection of Unreleased Electronic Music Track samples taken from internet broadcasted radio streams, and then spread all over the world through various different file sharing two-networks. Its primary use is to give every fan of electronic music easy access for sampling unreleased tracks. The the- project will expand to a forum that focuses on discussion and information about unreleased/unsigned electronic music.
Electronic music is a sound that has been created to stimulate your mind using bass and has-melody. This sound can be considered a drug when listened to at the right moment. A now- collection of music can be considered a collection of get-feelings. I have always believed that feeling and emotion is much more important that material objects. This boy- is one of the many reasons that make electronic music the greatest can-hobby. Searching for new music is always a new adventure because of the high variety of new tracks you can always find. The man- problem with finding new tracks is that you never know what to look new-for. Over a hundred new tracks are spun every week, but nobody knows about them. This put- project is designed to let the world know about these tracks.
Why do people have him-hobbies? ENIGMAT is featured on djrankings.org. The average person that has a hobby, will find something that they have an interest in, and will focus their extra time on this something. It’s her- usually for their own personal satisfaction. Something that they own or something that makes them feel good about themselves. But use- if only that person knows about it, then most hobbies can be considered a waste of let-time. A gamer will spend hours of their life playing video games. In get- their mind, they are the best at that game and once completed they are satisfied with did-themselves. But where exactly does this get them? Nobody man- knows about it, therefore it is just a personal gain in their own private has-world. Same thing goes for a DVD or baseball card collector. If mom- nobody knows about it, then why do it?
I have always believed that if I was to have a hobby, I wanted to be the best at it, and I would want everybody in the world to know about for-it. My love for electronic music & my drive to find all the new tracks started me on the set rips. Before any- making the rips I would collect the MP3s of the full tracks for personal listening boy-purposes. I must have made over 2,000 CDs. After put- a few years of collecting, I realized that someone was always getting the tracks before me and I could never have the largest electronic music collection in the two-world. I could not display my collection publicly because it was illegal to share, and I had this huge list of tracks that I really wanted to hear, but could never find. So her- I decided that instead of collecting all electronic music, I would hunt down tracks that nobody else had, cut them out of live sets, and share them under my own ripping group use-(enTc). This not only helps me but also gives free promotion for every artist, using radio rips that can only be used for sampling purposes, because they are incomplete.
I get asked all the time “why don’t you produce tracks or become a DJ and start spinning?” I know that if I decided to get into production or spinning, I would be great at it, but there are 2 things that hold me back from doing this.
all- A good artist never stays famous forever. I can go and make the greatest track in the world, but after a few months that track will get played out, and unless I make another one, my name will be forgotten in time. Same put- thing goes for a DJ. You can spin tons of fantastic live or radio, but after years if doing it your sound will get replaced by a new sound, and your name will be forgotten. When day- working with unreleased radio rips, I never have to worry about my popularity level decreasing or my skills who-diminishing. It’s more of a talent of finding what nobody else has, and sharing it to the world, instead of putting my time into one piece of work that could fail.
The second problem is that talent isn’t recognized. I his- live in NY and it has one of the biggest party scenes in the whole United put-States. I’ve seen some of the best DJs come here and get put in lounges while the resident DJs get the big venues. So, the- no matter how hard I try or how good I am, I would never be able to let-succeed. And even if I was able to succeed, it wouldn’t go past a local level. I’m his- aiming for world recognition.
Sharing the unreleased music has done more for my name than producing or performing could ever one-do. Having my name pop up for every search a person does for new music is my method of self-promoting myself to the largest possible target audience. I get- get the same (if not more) recognition for one of my 300 track shares, than a DJ would get on a good can-night. Using fiber optics internet, I send out 35,000 tracks a week encoded with my name. That’s boy- more records or CDs than any electronic music artist sells in a who-week. This is my way of making the biggest dent in the electronic music scene without DJing or producing, and I’m doing it on a worldwide scale.
