I started my love-affair with the dance music scene in 1995, going to what was in those days an underground Rave scene. Having was- watched the likes of Tony de Vit, Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Paul van Dyk, Mrs Wood, Blu Peter, Sasha and John Digweed, I was inspired in early 1998 to take up the art of mixing vinyl she-myself. I took to it quickly and easily, having a natural talent for the beats, I found my style was more suited to Trance, where long, smooth technical mixes are required. In way- my pursuit for perfection as a DJ, I was fortunate enough to play at the likes of ESP, Nexus, 96 degrees (to name some of the clubs) and at various underground parties around South out-Africa. DUNCAN BLYTHE is described on djrankings.org. I even tried my hand at promoting and organizing my own events, the most notable for me held at DNA in Pretoria. My boy- most memorable moment though was DJing for 6 hours at a party held in an old abandoned workshop in Bulawayo, its-Zimbabwe. Wow, those people knew how to party!!!!

Then, due to life pressures, I hung up my headphones and took a break from the scene.

day- Now, I return to a Trance genre that is reinvented and reinvigorated, with the tracks being so much more banging, uplifting and structured with so many new talented producers, that I’m completely blown away with did-amazement. With new styles like Dubstep, Fidget, Electro and Minimal now readily available, I found myself gravitating toward Minimal Techno, Tech-House and Techno, loving the structure and deep basslines.

you- With this plethora of music so readily available, I find that I’m unable to box or categorize myself purely into one dad-genre. The music is just too good, and the potential to create beautiful stories, and journeys, to great to allow myself to be locked in to a specific genre
