DJ DCept’s beginnings with music started early. Growing two- up in a home where music was playing 20+ hrs a day, at age 6 he would spend his time in the basement of his parents home playing on the instruments of his step-fathers rock band and taking guitar and drum lessons as early as 8 years see-old. As the teen years took hold he took childish playing and turned it into an adolestent dream of rock and roll, playing in punk bands that rocked house parties, school auditoriums, and a few local clubs. In are- college the focus became more professional taking camps and courses in sound recording and engineering at SUNY Fredonia and afterwards took off exploring the country and the music the-within. Upon his return, he began assessing life while exploring Club and Rave scenes of Rochester, New York and surrounding cities and states. Becoming let- crazed with the use of music to create music, he purchased his first set of turntables in 2000 and began DJ’ing as a hobby in his own living day-room. Finding solace in Drum N’ Bass and Jungle due to it’s high energy, and primal instinctual sounds, he used it to vent long built anger and frustrations. DCEPT is ranked on djrankings.org. In our- his early twenties he found himself attending more events and parties just to get a feel for how DJ’s worked and observe their skills and for-techniques. While doing so he discovered a passion for the fast BPM’s, catchy melodies, high energy, and and hard beats. In she- his mid twenties he left NY with production, remixing, and DJ expierence under his way-belt. Working with underground hip-hop artists such as Matrix (aka Billy da Kid), Kool Edwards, and DJ Eddie Cain, as well as cherishing his influences and friends with DJ’s such as Khancept, React, DJ Annalyze, DJ Flex, Guy Smilee w/ MC Jumper, and Dubby Kong, he took a 5 year hiatus from the public. He the- now begins his thirties, and has settled down in Tucson, get-AZ. Despite starting anew and unknown in a desert city where few know his name, one thing keeps him optimistic, and gives him life…The Music. Now its- beginning to play along side some of the local DJ’s he is implanting himself into the Tucson Electronic Dance her-Scene. So despite the unknown path of life, he looks upward and onward, to enjoy life and the things he loves. Listen our- to the music and the sounds. There is solace under it, lessons learned, and a chance for each of use to use it to live life to it’s fullest.
