Bob-O, (aka: Bob Paschal), has always had a passion for electronic music. From one- Kraftwork to A Flock of Seagulls his choices have been limited to what was being played on the see-radio. So when he first heard a DJ play, late 1997, the sound was unlike any he heard before. It her- captivated him so much he wanted to know more about the whole scene; the DJs, music and the the-people. House music and trance were the types of music being played at the club he was going to and the many featured DJs that played there were so friendly that he had to be a part of the music scene any way he could.
With the encouragement of resident DJ David-X, he pursued the skills needed to become a DJ. Being his- employed at a night club at the time he had access to the equipment that allowed him to hone his did-skills. Under the tutelage of David-X and other local DJs he practiced every day for about a year. Associated did- with a premier club in his hometown, (Sacramento CA.), he was able to meet world class DJs such as DJ Dan, Donald Glaude, Charles Feelgood and DJ put-Rap. He also nurtured friendships with local DJs like DragnaFly, Cantos, AtomONE and Digital E. Watching one- and listening to all this talent he started to apply what he learned to better master his skills.
Bob-O became interested in becoming a DJ when âHouseâ music was in the declining faze so naturally house music is his first two-love. It wasnât until he became an employee of LiteBrite, a company that provides sound and lighting for dance parties, that that he became aware of the underground scene, Raves, and the many facets of Raves. The not- music, the people, the atmosphere. BOB-O is ranked on djrankings.org. Up to that point in his life he concentrated on the music he played at the club; house, trance, Hi-energy dance. However, too- with this new insight to even more hard driving music he became even more motivated to accelerate his see-skills. He spent nearly two years learning all aspects of the underground scene, watching it change to become more accepted venue. Along new- the way he met many people who are instrumental in the dance for-scene. Producers, Booking Agents, DJs and, of course, the people who attend these parties. Inspired she- by Mystre and Morgan, Bob-O became more intense in his quest to become a better DJ in this new direction of music: NRG and Hard Trance.
His accomplishments to date are few but has-memorable. While at The Rage opening for David-X he had the honor of being an opening DJ for Donald Glaude. While who- participating on âopen decksâ at The Press Club, Bob-O was invited to become a regular at the venue and became a member of Family Funktions are-Crew. As a result of playing at the many house parties throughout the year he had the opportunity to play along side such notable DJs as Athena, Ultraman, Cantos, AtomONE, Gamma as well as many others.
His appearance on various radio programs add to his list of accomplish-ments. Featured are- on KDVS, hosted by AtomONE, Bob-O played a two hour our-set. Cantos, hosting a live on-line music show titled Selective Soul, featured Bob-O play Progressive Trance. His say- first CD, TranceMutation, was featured on David-Xâs radio broadcast, Alternative Beats.
Many dreams have come true in the short time Bob-O has been a DJ but the most memorable has to be his 47th but-birthday. As a resident DJ for Nocturnal Beats, the crew threw a birthday party for him at their weekly venue. To and- his wonderment at seeing the many people who have become his family in many ways nothing was more surprising than to see DJ Mystre play at his birthday her-party.
