Macbook not picking up S4 in port, works on windows laptop Posted on: 12.05.2012 by Michell Wehrmeyer I've been using the s4 with windows fine for a little bit now with no problems, but yesterday when i tried to use it with a macbook, the in port was not recognized. Obviously the unit and all the usb cables work fine. I installed the drivers and everything and the S4 recognized being plugged in to usb (usb connected light on, not blinking) but the unit would not work with traktor. However, the speakers plugged in to the s4 worked fine playing sound from traktor pro 2 AND the main level knob on the s4 was working and giving feed back... anyone know what this was about?also: i tried setting up with both internal and external mixer mode just to see if it was something like that but no good. | |

Jamila Citino 03.06.2012 | I had the same problem with my S2 on one of my USB ports. I thought it kind of odd but it would make sense that the Controller Editor could be the culprit. |
Elfriede Babian 02.06.2012 | Hey, i also use the traktor S4 with my mac, and am having the same trouble as you. I downloaded all the new updates etc etc and yet it is still not detected, however after much scrounging on the interwebs it seems that the problem lies in the new 'Controller Editor' update. Use an older version of the software until the boys at Native can sort it out |
Michell Wehrmeyer 15.05.2012 | like i said, i use the s4 with my windows laptop with the same usb cord all the time. it worked fine before i tried it with the mac and continues to work fine afterwards |
Rocco Fiveash 13.05.2012 | Try another computer to rule out that it is not the S4. And if you have not already, try another USB cord.. don't assume the one you have is OK. Open a terminal, and from root, issue a dmesg after plugging in the S4, you should see the mac recognize it (or not). |
Michell Wehrmeyer 13.05.2012 | macbook only has 2 USB ports but tried em both, tried plugging something else in to the usb port and it worked fine. Running 2.1.2 and had rebooted at least once with no luck |
Jame Shelling 13.05.2012 | Hav you updated Pro 2 already on the Mac? I have had this with a older version pro 2 , solution was when the S4 is plugged in etc, dont restart youre mac but set it completely out and then set the mac back on. It had to do with the usb slots , if i added a usb stick while playing the S4 stopped to and only gain worked, this was fixed in a later update. You could give it a shot, who knows.... Have you also tryed using a different usb port btw? |
Michell Wehrmeyer 12.05.2012 | also, the macbook was running version 10.6.8 and i was using the most recent driver from the NI website. |
