Time to replace my Sony MDR700's
Time to replace my Sony MDR700's Posted on: 14.11.2010 by Brunilda Kora Time to replace my headphones. They're held together with superglue and steel wire! They've served me well - nearly 10 years. Considering these bad boys: http://www.chemical-records.co.uk/sc...?Track=SR750DJ The tech. specs are very similar - the only real difference is the impedance & weight - Sony 24Ohms Vs Shure 32Ohms, and Sony 300Gms Vs Shure 700Gms (700Gms sounds HEAVY)... Comfort is important. If the Shures are heavy and clamp my head like a vice I won't be buying them. Has anybody tried these? I'm gonna get down Chemical Records (I live 10 minutes away) and give 'em a go... | |

Leeanna Ayla 15.11.2010 | I'll second the 7506's. Plus they have more of a metal construction than the 700's which should prevent them from breaking. |
Ninfa Larranaga 16.11.2010 | special price at pssl for the sony ones: http://www.pssl.com/Sony-MDRV700DJ-DJRemix-Headphones-s |
Enrique Silversmith 16.11.2010 | get some sony 7506 there found in every recording studio u go into. great sound very accurate and its incredibly incredibly comfortable i can wear these cans all day long!! if those shures are that heavy and if there "small" idk for me id be worried about them sliding off your head, and if not i bet they really clamp on but idk never tried them that mod article is awesome i love the crown royal bag rofl |
Brunilda Kora 16.11.2010 | I have considered that - there's nothing wrong with the drivers, they still sound sweet as a nut... |
Noelia Koga 14.11.2010 | http://www.djranking

Rhona Naron 14.11.2010 | i believe he meant the headband |
Brunilda Kora 14.11.2010 | Drivers are 50mm - so they're the same size as the Sony's. Thanks for the heads up on the Scratchworx review. |
Rhona Naron 14.11.2010 | according to the review on skratchworx.com they're apparently quite small. |
