Reply to Time to replace my Sony MDR700's

Time to replace my headphones.



They're held together with superglue and steel wire! They've served me well - nearly 10 years. Considering these bad boys:

The tech. specs are very similar - the only real difference is the impedance & weight - Sony 24Ohms Vs Shure 32Ohms, and Sony 300Gms Vs Shure 700Gms (700Gms sounds HEAVY)...

Comfort is important. If the Shures are heavy and clamp my head like a vice I won't be buying them.

Has anybody tried these? I'm gonna get down Chemical Records (I live 10 minutes away) and give 'em a go...
