00:00 Nov/30/1999

The ingenious disco and funk producer and co-author of 3 songs on 'Random Access Memories', Nile Rogers has given his opinion to the on the numerous fans who have bashed the effort: "Everything splits opinions. When people do things that are cutting edge or bold, there’s always going to be some kind of backlash."

Rodgers went on to add: "Anybody can dislike Daft Punk’s record, it's fine. If you don’t like it, you don’t like it. But to try and say that you want to limit a person’s artistic vision because you do things another way seems really not in the spirit of dance music."

The chic-frontman's opinion is in coherence with the notion that came out in another interview in which Thomas Bangalter said: "Some people seem to love it while some people seem to hate it, which is extremely healthy. Art and music is about triggering debate and different reactions and the most depressing reaction for an artist is indifference."
