DJ-producers unite to raise awareness about AIDS once again

14:50 Aug/25/2014

The World's AIDS day is coming December 1. A lot of artists have taken it on themselves to unite for the good cause. With a social media following of millions, it's more than thankworthy that the DJ-producers do everything they can. Two of the biggest initiatives come from (RED) and Lifebeat.

Last year, charity organization (RED) with the help of Tiesto, published the compilation "Dance (RED), Save Lives". This year is no different, as the 2nd edition of the compilation, featuring Calvin Harris, Major Lazer, Bingo Players and other EDM stars is already on sale here. See the trailer below to find out how you can help along, and follow the initiative on Facebook to show your support.

In turn, Beatport has partnered with Lifebeat, Music Fights HIV/AIDS, the leading nonprofit dedicated to educating America’s youth (13-29) about HIV/AIDS prevention, in support of World AIDS Day on Sunday, December 1.

Leading artists including CHVRCHES, Macklemore, Carl Cox, and 3LAU among others are encouraging their fans to participate in the #MusicFightsAIDS campaign and drive awareness for this cause via social media channels.

“My friends, fans, and I are all part of the 13-24 age group which is seeing a rapid rise of HIV/AIDS,” says producer/DJ 3LAU. “Given how connected we all are to each other, the least we can do is use our voices to make friends aware of this virus and to be better educated on how to prevent it.”

In addition, Lifebeat has partnered with marquee music venues nationwide including New York City’s Best Buy Theater, Los Angeles’ SupperClub, and Miami’s LIV, to provide concert and club-goers with free condoms and essential information on how to prevent HIV infection and transmission.
