Daft Punk made music for Gates of the Sun

Daft Punk's Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo has provided some music for forthcoming action film Gates of the Sun.

The Mike Tyson-featuring flick, about an Algerian secret agent's battle against a paramilitary organisation, is set to hit screens on March 8 and the final scene will be accompanied by music from Guy-Manuel.

Rather than being credited to himself, though, it's listed as Le Knight Club, his collaborative project with Crydamoure co-founder Eric Chedeville.

Chedeville, who produced the movie's theme tune, revealed details of their work to French publication Les Rocks.

"Guy-Man has made music in this film. Initially it had to be for a fight scene with Mike Tyson, but now it’s the final scene inside a club. It should not exceed two minutes, I think.

"And the piece will not be signed 'Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo' but 'Knight Club', the nickname that we used at the time for Crydamoure. The director is a friend of Guy-Man, and he wanted to give him a hand."

It's not his first association with the big screen as Daft Punk are portrayed in 90s-based film Eden, one of many dance music-related shows and films landing this year.
